Quartet – January

Quartet

A couple of years ago in January, I used a ‘daily painters’ model painting a small piece every day. I met my goal of 2 weeks and 14 paintings.

I called the series Looking Upward, and each piece was given the title Skylight and a number.  These are 4 of my favorites, each 5” x 7.” It’s a good practice and fun when undertaken in a free and joyful way. “Beginner’s mind,” as a friend said to me recently.

Fall Exhibits

I will be showing work in 4 exhibits this fall, including my first "Invitational." I have been asked by the curator of the Cornwall Library Gallery in Connecticut to submit 3 paintings for a group show called Sky. One of the paintings, Daybreak Mist, Portugal, is included here. SAVE THE DATE! NYC Opening, Thursday, December 13th from 6 to 8 pm. For the 3rd year, I will participate in a group show at the Ceres Gallery, 547 West 27th St, in Chelsea, NYC. It has become a seasonal event and I hope everyone who lives in the area will stop by and say hello at the opening. Provincetown Art Association Museum. I am participating in 2 shows at PAAM this fall. I have already sold one piece in the Juried Miniatures on display now, and I am getting a piece ready for Small Works in November. Storm Front at Race Point

Storm Front at Race Point

This piece was on exhibit at the Provincetown Museum Small Works show in June and July. I joined the museum as an artist member and have sold pieces in their shows. Several people bid this one and it found a home with another happy collector!

Atardecer

Atardecer sA Spanish speaking friend saw this and immediately said; “atardecer a la playa,” late afternoon at the beach. Yes, that was exactly my vision, I titled it with the spontaneous clarity of her response.
