Reflection – 15″x22″ monoprint on paper

Reflection: 1. throwing back light without absorbing it, 2. serious thought or consideration.

This summer was an intense immersion in monoprinting for me. I hope you will visit the monoprint page on my website and check out my other new work: http://virginiagiordano.com/Virginia_Giordano/monoprints.html

Here in the ‘northern latitudes,’ we are looking forward to the end of winter, to the onset of spring, and the return of vibrant colors in the earth and sky.

This painting was on exhibit at the Ceres Gallery in NYC last December in my show, Passage.

Quartet – January

Quartet

A couple of years ago in January, I used a ‘daily painters’ model painting a small piece every day. I met my goal of 2 weeks and 14 paintings.

I called the series Looking Upward, and each piece was given the title Skylight and a number.  These are 4 of my favorites, each 5” x 7.” It’s a good practice and fun when undertaken in a free and joyful way. “Beginner’s mind,” as a friend said to me recently.
